It’s fun to paint stones and it’s an easy craft activity that everyone can do. All you need is hobby paint and a brush. Go for a walk together and look for stones that you can paint.
Summer tip! Make your own noughts and crosses game using painted stones
Making your own game using painted stones is a great idea for summer. You will need eight stones. Wash them and leave them to dry completely. Paint the stones in two different colours or in two different designs.
Noughts and crosses never goes out of fashion. Even the youngest members of the family can join in. It’s a simple, fun game for all the family.
Sew a bag for your painted stones
You can play on an ordinary piece of paper. If you can sew a bag for your stones, it’s a great place to keep them. You could draw a grid on the outside of the bag. It’s really handy to be able to take your counters and your board with you wherever you go. We made our bag out of an old pillowcase.
